Spraying for cockroaches every month and still seeing them? Here is why

If you need a spray visit every month, the problem has not been solved

Six reasons spraying for cockroaches does not solve it
Six reasons cockroaches keep coming back, even with regular spraying

The problem is not the product — it is that the product never gets there

Spraying only covers surfaces the nozzle can reach, but cockroaches nest where it cannot — inside hollow walls, under floors, in drain lines, behind cabinets fixed to the wall, and in the ceiling void.

What dies is what came out foraging. The eggs and nymphs in the nest are untouched, and once they hatch the cycle starts again — which is why the spraying has to be repeated every two to four weeks.

The hidden cost of repeat spraying

  • Staff time packing away utensils and ingredients before every visit
  • Overtime, because it has to be done outside trading hours
  • Time re-washing surfaces and utensils afterwards
  • The risk of residue on food-contact surfaces

Why a gas reaches further

Active oxygen is a gas, so it spreads anywhere air goes — including wall cavities, pipework and the space behind cabinets, none of which spraying reaches.

And because it reverts to oxygen when the job is done, there is no residue on chopping boards, prep tables or utensils — nothing to re-wash.

What has to be done alongside it, every time

No method works while the conditions still suit the insects. Our team points out what needs fixing during the site survey.

  • Food debris and grease building up under cabinets and in floor drains
  • Damp from leaking pipes or standing water
  • Bins without a properly sealed lid
  • Pipe openings and cracks connecting to neighbouring units

In a shophouse or a condo block on shared pipework, treating your unit alone may not be enough, because insects travel in from next door. We say so plainly at the survey rather than over-promising.
